Job Description:
Role Overview:
The Epic Analyst HIM (Health Information Management) is responsible for the implementation, support, and optimization of Epic s Health Information Management module, including Release of Information(ROI), Deficiency Tracking, Identity, Coding and Document Management. This role ensures that HIM workflows are fully integrated into the electronic health record system, supporting compliance with regulatory standards, improving documentation practices, and enhancing access to health records. The analyst partners closely with HIM leadership, IT teams, and clinical departments to maintain secure, accurate, and efficient information management processes.
What you will do:
  • Configure, build, test, and maintain Epic HIM modules, including Release of Information (ROI), Deficiency Tracking, Identity, and Coding.
  • Collaborate with HIM leadership and operational users to assess current workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and translate business requirements into Epic functionality.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission) in all HIM related Epic configurations.
  • Support release of information processes and chart corrections using Epic tools.
  • Work with Identity Management to resolve patient issues and maintain record accuracy.
  • Coordinate and execute testing plans for system upgrades, and patches.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide prompt support to HIM users.
  • Develop reports and dashboards related to HIM metrics.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Epic HIM certification.
  • Strong knowledge of HIM operations, workflows, and regulatory requirements.
REQUIRED:
  1. Certification in Epic HIM modules: Release of Information, Identity, Coding and Deficiency Tracking 2 Years
