Position: Network Engineer (Payment Domain)

Location: Houston, TX

Duration: Contract Position

This is a Network Engineer role with a specialized focus on payment systems. This means the candidate will not only be proficient in general network engineering duties but will also possess specific skills and knowledge related to the secure and efficient operation of networks involved in financial transactions.

Description:

Designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and secure network infrastructure: This includes LAN, WAN, VPNs, routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks.

  • Specialized in payment system networking: Designing, implementing, and managing networks specifically optimized for high-volume, secure financial transactions, potentially involving low-latency connectivity to trading venues or integrating with various financial networks.
  • Ensuring network security and compliance: Implementing and maintaining firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security protocols. Adhering to strict industry regulations and standards like PCI-DSS, PSD2, GDPR, and AML, crucial for protecting sensitive financial data and transactions.
  • Performance monitoring and optimization: Monitoring network performance, troubleshooting latency issues, and implementing solutions to ensure seamless and efficient payment processing, including understanding and applying QoS (Quality of Service) for critical transaction traffic.
