Description:
As a Manufacturing Engineer supporting Skunk Works , you will serve as a key liaison between design engineering and production teams, ensuring aerospace vehicle systems (fuel, hydraulic, electrical, etc.) are efficiently built and integrated. You'll lead producibility reviews, develop manufacturing plans, and guide work instruction creation to support advanced manufacturing operations. This role also includes mentoring early-career engineers and helping shape standard work processes for the team.

Description:
As a Manufacturing Engineer supporting Skunk Works , you will serve as a key liaison between design engineering and production teams, ensuring aerospace vehicle systems (fuel, hydraulic, electrical, etc.) are efficiently built and integrated. You'll lead producibility reviews, develop manufacturing plans, and guide work instruction creation to support advanced manufacturing operations. This role also includes mentoring early-career engineers and helping shape standard work processes for the team.
Responsibilities
- Act as subject matter expert for aerospace vehicle systems (fuel, hydraulic, electrical, etc.)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design engineering, quality, supply chain, EHS, and production operations
- Provide producibility feedback to optimize engineering designs for manufacturing
- Create 3D manufacturing simulations to improve build efficiency and perform clash detection
- Review 3D engineering models for manufacturability to reduce cost and improve supplier performance
- Develop Manufacturing Engineering Statement of Work (SOW) requirements
- Support program start-ups, assembly, and production processes
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in aerospace vehicle systems within a production environment
- 8+ years of experience in production operations and/or engineering
- 5+ years of CAD experience (CATIA V4/V5 or 3DX preferred)
- Prior experience in Manufacturing Engineering supporting program launches and production
Preferred Qualifications
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
- Experience with Atlassian Confluence and JIRA
- Strong problem-solving skills in vehicle systems manufacturing and testing
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action, and FMEA
- Proven ability to plan and implement production work cells and facility layouts
- Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, process specs, and develop work instructions
- Effective communicator with ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to resolve issues and implement corrective actions independently or collaboratively
