Job Description:
  • The Automation Test Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts to validate web/UI and web service applications.
  • This role will work closely with business and technical teams to ensure the quality of software releases in healthcare claims processing and other enterprise applications.
Responsibilities:
  • Analyze User Stories and Acceptance Criteria to prepare automated test scripts for Web/UI and Web Services.
  • Code automation scripts using Selenium, SoapUI, Cucumber, and BDD frameworks.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance the automation framework in alignment with enterprise standards and best practices.
  • Prepare test plans and test cases with pre-determined results; execute tests and review test data within scheduled timelines.
  • Analyze test and operational problems to determine presence and scope of potential code defects.
  • Report errors through a structured defect tracking process using Jira.
  • Provide weekly status updates to management verbally and in written form regarding potential issues or concerns.
  • Schedule Jenkins jobs and execute automated regression and smoke test suites in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain business and technical knowledge through training, workshops, and research.
  • Coordinate with internal and external customers to resolve issues and verify satisfaction.
  • Participate in project work group meetings, including peer reviews, walk-throughs, status meetings, Software Process Improvement, and JAD sessions.
  • Initiate Change Management Records (CMRs) or IT tracking system requests for system changes or enhancements.
Required Skills And Qualifications:
  • 6 10 years of technical experience, with at least 5 years in automated software testing and core framework development.
  • Experience designing and implementing test automation frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Design and programming languages including Java, JavaScript, SQL/PL-SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium, Cucumber, and BDD frameworks.
  • Experience in mobile test automation using tools such as Appium.
  • Proficiency in web service test automation using SoapUI.
  • Experience with relational database management systems (MS SQL Server, DB2, Oracle) and ability to create, maintain, and run complex database queries.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies.
  • Experience across multiple environments/OS platforms (Windows, Linux, UNIX, Mainframe) and technologies (.Net, Web technologies, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in healthcare claims processing.
  • Strong analytical and architectural mindset for effective framework design.
