Job Title: Workday Architect Location: Milwaukee, WI (Hybrid: 2-3 days onsite per week) Duration: 6 months (Possible extensions)
Position Purpose: The Workday Architect plays a crucial role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of Workday solutions within an organization. The Workday Architect ensures that the organization maximizes its investment in Workday by aligning the system with business needs, optimizing its performance, and driving continuous improvement. This role is crucial for our organization to fully leverage Workday's capabilities and achieve the HR and business objectives efficiently.
Primary Duties / Responsibilities:
- Design and define the overall structure of the Workday HCM system to align with HR strategies and business goals.
- Ensure that the Workday HCM solution fits within the broader enterprise architecture and integrates seamlessly with other systems.
- Co-lead the Workday Center of Excellence to enforce adherence to formalized standard operating procedures for all maintenance and configuration activities.
- Partner with HRIS to ensure leading practice usage of Workday configuration to satisfy policy and regulatory requirements while meeting the key business goals and strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with executive stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical strategies.
- Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of the Workday HCM platform across the organization.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in Workday architecture and processes.
- Lead position in the implementation of Workday HCM modules such as Human Resources, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence Management, Benefits, Compensation, Recruiting, and Talent Management.
- Provide guidance on the configuration of the Workday HCM system according to specific organizational requirements and best practices.
- Support the design and management of integrations for Workday HCM with other internal systems including: SAP, Peoplesoft, Google BigQuery and external third party services.
- Ensure data flows smoothly and securely between Workday and other systems.
- Recommend with HR and Internal Control and implement security roles and permissions within Workday to ensure data integrity and compliance with local and international data protection regulations.
- Optimize the usage of Workday and the licensing model. Work and collaborate closely with Workday
- Regularly review with HR and update security settings as per organizational changes and compliance requirements.
- Support HRIS in the testing of Workday configurations and integrations to ensure they meet user requirements and function correctly.
- Manage the resolution of any issues identified during testing phases with the HR teams.
- Support HRIS in the development of HR training programs for end-users to ensure they are proficient in using Workday HCM features.
- Providing second-level support for issues that the HR helpdesk cannot resolve.
- Manage DB&T budgets, resources, and timelines for Workday-related projects and run activities.
- Monitor the performance of the Workday HCM system and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Support the Implement updates and enhancements to improve system efficiency and user satisfaction.
- Support the change process associated with new Workday HCM deployments or modifications.
- Ensure that all stakeholders are informed and prepared for changes in the Workday system.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation on system configurations and processes.
- Support the HRIS team in the development of custom reports and dashboards to meet the analytical needs.
- Collaborate with HR teams and other key stakeholders to understand their needs and how Workday can be optimized to support them.
- Act as a bridge between technical teams, HR and key stakeholders to ensure that all perspectives are addressed in the Workday configuration.
- Stay informed about new Workday features, updates, and best practices.
- Leverage relationship with Workday CSM during critical escalations, requests for new feature education, and broader exposure to major updates/opportunities with Workday (Regional User Groups, Early Access programs, etc.)
- Participate in Workday communities and attend conferences to keep skills and knowledge current.

Education / Experience / Background
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in Workday implementations or related HR/ERP systems.
