Job Details

A globally leading technology company is looking for a Research Operations Engineer to support complex human subjects research and data collection initiatives. In this role, you ll design, pilot, and refine research protocols, operate quantitative measurement systems (such as eye tracking, motion capture, and EMG/ECG), and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless study execution. You ll also develop documentation, train facilitators, and help shape innovative data collection systems that enhance both participant experience and data quality. Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, pilot and troubleshoot complex human subjects research protocols and data collection systems
  • Operate quantitative measurement systems for human subjects research (for example: eye tracking, motion capture, EMG, ECG, PPG, PSG).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners (e.g. engineering, design, project management, legal, security, etc.) to define study requirements, protocol designs and data flows.
  • Write technical documents including study instructions, operating procedures and training documents for study facilitators.
  • Train and oversee study facilitators on data collection procedures.
  • Develop and refine study protocols, processes and procedures to improve participant experience, data quality and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to the design of user study data collection systems including hardware, firmware, software and user interface specifications.

Experience and Education:

  • Minimum 3 years of hands on experience planning, coordinating and executing human subjects research.
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering.
  • Health research related discipline or equivalent industry experience.


Type: Contract
Duration: 12 months (with possibility to extend)
Work Location: Austin, TX (on-site)
Pay rate: $35.00 - $50.00 (DOE)
