Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, 4+ years DevOps engineering in enterprise environments, 3+ years infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet), 1-2 years in a Lead role

Certifications: AWS DevOps Professional, Azure DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible

Position Summary

Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks supporting IRS Criminal Investigation's digital forensics platform. Drive infrastructure-as-code initiatives while ensuring compliance with federal security requirements.

Education & Certifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • DevOps certifications preferred: AWS DevOps Professional, Azure DevOps Engineer
  • Container orchestration certifications (Kubernetes, Docker) highly valued
  • Infrastructure automation certifications (Terraform, Ansible) beneficial


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement automated CI/CD pipelines
  • Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions for Nutanix and cloud environments
  • Create automated testing and deployment frameworks
  • Implement container orchestration and microservices architecture
  • Develop monitoring and alerting automation
  • Support legacy code migration to modern API frameworks


Required Experience

  • 4+ years DevOps engineering in enterprise environments
  • 3+ years infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet)
  • Strong scripting and programming skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
  • Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Background in government or regulated industry DevOps practices
  • Proven experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
  • Minimum of 2+ years with previous or current experience with the IRS is required
