Worldwide Technology is looking for a Senior Network Engineer. This role is part of WWT s Strategic Resourcing services and is a contract role. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT s preferred partners. The partner will provide full compensation and benefit information prior to employment with the partner.

Title: Senior Network Engineer
Location: New York, NY, USA - Hybrid
Duration/Type of Job: 6+ months
Rate/Salary: A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $60 to $90 hourly (Rate range is on C2C basis). Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a new market data connectivity infrastructure using Cisco equipment. This role requires a deep understanding of network architecture, market data systems, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Implementation: Lead the design and implementation of a new market data connectivity infrastructure using Cisco equipment, ensuring high availability, low latency, and scalability.
- Network Architecture: Develop and maintain network architecture diagrams, documentation, and standards to support the market data infrastructure.
- Configuration and Optimization: Configure and optimize Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for network-related issues, including root cause analysis and resolution.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and operation of the market data infrastructure.
- Security: Implement and maintain network security measures to protect data integrity and prevent unauthorized access.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Set up and manage network monitoring tools to proactively identify and address potential issues. Generate regular reports on network performance and health.
- Compliance: Ensure that the network infrastructure complies with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers and other team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on Cisco equipment and market data connectivity.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Strong understanding of network protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, etc.) and technologies (MPLS, VPN, QoS, etc.).
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., Cisco Prime, SolarWinds, etc.).
- Knowledge of market data systems and financial trading environments is a plus.
- Problem-Solving:Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
- Communication:Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Team Player:Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Adaptability:Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
This role may require on-location work with WWT customers. Some customers may require WWT employees and contractors coming on-site to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and/or to receive frequent negative COVID-19 testing.
