Job Description
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

Required Skills for the IT Software Developer:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in software engineering
- Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language (e.g., Go, Java, C#, Python)
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Knowledge of containerized application deployments with Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of relational data models (RDBMS/SQL) and NoSQL databases
- Experience in developing distributed software systems and message queues
- Familiarity with Unit Testing practices
- Proven track record in building data-intensive APIs using gRPC

IT Software Engineer Overview:
The team spearheads the design and development of software solutions aimed at revolutionizing complex scientific datasets within Bayer Crop Science. You will play a pivotal role in crafting cloud solutions capable of scaling massively to handle tens of thousands of concurrent pods, processing data critical to our operations.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and creation of software solutions for scientific datasets transformation
- Develop and maintain cloud-based infrastructure on major providers like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Create and manage containerized application deployments using platforms such as Kubernetes
- Design relational data models and optimize query patterns; familiarity with NoSQL is a plus
- Architect distributed software systems utilizing message queues, scalable compute, and storage
- Implement Unit Testing practices and methodologies effectively
- Build robust data-intensive APIs using gRPC
