Job description:
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Application Support Analyst to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing critical support for our healthcare applications, ensuring their stability, performance, and availability.
This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare workflows and data, technical expertise in various operating systems and databases, and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert-level support for critical healthcare applications, diagnosing and resolving incidents and problems in a timely manner.
- Monitor application performance and proactively identify potential issues.
- Work closely with development teams to understand new features and provide feedback from a support perspective.
- Manage and maintain application configurations and environments.
- Develop and maintain documentation for support procedures and common issues.
- Automate repetitive support tasks using scripting languages.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as required.
- Collaborate with other IT teams (infrastructure, database, network) to resolve cross-functional issues.
- Provide support and management for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Production Releases, including coordination, communication, and post-release verification.
Requirements:
- 8+ yrs of experience in an Application Support role, preferably within the healthcare or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of various phases of trading (e.g., order entry, execution, clearing, settlement) and asset types (e.g.,

- Strong SQL skills and comfortable working with SQL Server, including writing queries and understanding database structures.
- Experience with Windows operating systems (including Windows 2003 and 2008 clustering) and common business applications (MS Office).
- Basic level of UNIX scripting knowledge; hands-on experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, VB Script, and Batch scripting.
- Familiarity with scheduling software such as Autosys or Active Batch.
- Expert communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the development or automation of repetitive support tasks.
- Experience with ITIL framework and best practices.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools.
- Experience supporting healthcare-specific applications (e.g., EHR/EMR systems, PACS, LIS).
