Job Description:
As a Network Engineer at our organization, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and optimization of our enterprise network. This role offers a diverse range of responsibilities including solution design, technical support, project management, and maintaining high network availability in a 24x7 environment. You'll be at the forefront of technological advancements in a critical manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire network lifecycle from design to troubleshooting.
- Implement and support a variety of critical network devices including Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, wireless controllers, and access points.
- Handle system requests/tickets, from planning to resolution, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Lead infrastructure projects such as expansions, upgrades, and replacements.
- Monitor network performance, escalate issues, and ensure timely resolution.
- Conduct network audits and implement necessary corrections.
- Provide guidance and support to junior engineers in complex troubleshooting scenarios.
- Review and approve network procedures to ensure technical accuracy.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support when necessary.
- Collaborate with vendors and ISPs for issue resolution and maintenance.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and security policies.
- Assist with internal tasks such as inventory management and documentation.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in computer science or related field.
- 4+ years of experience supporting and designing large enterprise networks.
- Proficiency in network protocols and technologies including EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, VPC, and more.
- Strong sense of responsibility and ability to complete tasks effectively.
- Capability to lift equipment up to 40lbs.
- Willingness to use cleanroom gear and PPE in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux systems.
