Job Description:

This position is for a mid-level Manufacturing Engineer who has demonstrated successful improvements in production processes or procedures resulting in enhanced performance, reduced cost, or expedited scheduling of production. The candidate should have proven experience with detailed and labor-intensive manufacturing processes and project management skills

Essential Functions:

    \n
  • Create and maintains production build documents including but not limited to work instructions, routers, and work order notes.
  • \n
  • Assess production risks and issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity and quality goals and objectives.
  • \n
  • Recommend enhancements to work centers and processes.
  • \n
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are followed on projects.
  • \n
  • Communicate with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.
  • \n
  • Work to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.
  • \n
  • May manage projects or processes with general supervision.
  • \n
  • May be responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area.
  • \n
  • Present project progress and status to technical teams.
  • \n
  • Ensure all technical performance, cost, and schedule goals on the program are met.
  • \n
  • May be responsible for entire projects or processes within a job area.
  • \n
  • Command basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • \n
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that is cooperative and supportive of customers, co-workers and managers.

  • 10% travel

Qualifications:
    \n
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant Manufacturing Engineer experience.Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related Manufacturing Engineer experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related Manufacturing Engineer experience.
  • \n
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET DOD Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship
  • \n

Preferred Additional Skills:
    \n
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • \n
  • Experience working with government contracts
  • \n
  • Experience with undersea acoustic sensors and systems
  • \n
  • Experience with fiber optics and high-power cabled systems
  • \n
  • PMP Certification
  • \n
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project, critical path management
