Project Description:

This role supports a large-scale modernization effort to consolidate and streamline eligibility functions for several programs operated by the Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) and the Department of Human Services (DHS). The initiative focuses on building a new Integrated Eligibility System (IES) for medical programs serving individuals and households.

Must-Have:

Prior IES (Integrated Eligibility System) experience is required

Required Skills:

  • Enterprise JavaBeans (Java EE/EJB)

  • Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE / J2EE)

  • Java Web Services

  • Java Servlets / Web / MVC

  • Java Server Pages (JSP)

  • SQL (advanced, complex queries)

Preferred Skills:

  • Public sector or state government experience

  • Familiarity with medical eligibility systems and legacy system migration

Responsibilities:

  • Perform backend Java development for complex web applications

  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries

  • Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting

  • Collaborate with team members to complete technical tasks

  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior developers
