Job title: Android Developer

Location:  Bentonville, AR

Duration: Contract

Client: Walmart

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain advanced Android applications.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to define, design, and ship new features.
• Ensure applications meet high standards of performance, security, and user experience.
• Debug and resolve application issues, crashes, and bugs.
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to best practices, and mentor junior developers (if applicable).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven hands-on experience in Android development (Java and/or Kotlin).
• Strong understanding of Android SDK, Android Studio, and Jetpack libraries.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and third-party libraries (Retrofit, Glide, etc.).
• Familiarity with MVVM, MVP, or Clean Architecture patterns.
• Knowledge of Android UI design principles, Material Design, and best practices.
• Proficient in Git and version control systems.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Firebase, Google Play services, and push notifications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, etc.).
• Experience with unit testing and UI testing frameworks (JUnit, Espresso).
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Published at least one app on the Google Play Store.
