OVERVIEW
We're looking for a Release Manager who will coordinate various teams, track progress, manage risks and resolve conflicts to ensure successful product releases. The ideal candidate should possess experience providing technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments. Along with the technical skills, you should also possess soft skills to drive essential changes to communicate, coordinate, and handle various teams within the organization. This position is remote.

COMPENSATION:
Salary at DSS, Inc. is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $70,000.00 to $90,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of DSS, Inc. total compensation package for employees.
SECURITY AND PRIVACY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Individuals working for DSS will be subject to security and privacy requirements as explained in HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53. Additionally, they are required to undergo specific FedRAMP training to ensure compliance with all associated controls and responsibilities in the day-to-day performance of their duties. Individuals working in departments that are considered to be in the high-risk category will be required to undergo advanced training based on their role and level of access. Individuals with access to modify data and the configuration baseline will require further training.

The Release Manager will:
- Manage and monitor progress of software releases from inception to delivery
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful releases
- Develop and implement release strategies and schedules
- Working with Product Management to ensure development strategy and product execution align
- Identify and manage risks that may affect release scope, schedule, and quality
- Conduct Release reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews
- Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes
- Lead and coordinate release activities with Project Management, Development, QA, and Operations teams
- Provide continuous improvement feedback to the release process
- Manage rollback plans and contingencies to address potential deployment issues.
- Be available for and participate in off-hours and emergency production support requests.
- Provides additional departmental duties such as contributing to RFP's and/or other infrastructure maintenance tasks.
- Contributes to project work planning.
- Coordinate with IT and DevOps teams to maintain reliable deployment environments.
- Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 4 years of direct Release Management experience
- Provide high service availability to resolve critical issues quickly
- Must be able to follow directions, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and communicate effectively and confidently
- Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle and how agile methodologies
- Proficiency in technologies and project management tools like Microsoft Project, Adobe, Jira, Azure DevOps (ADO), and Confluence.
Desired
- ITIL Certified
- PMI qualification as a PMP or ACP a plus
- Experience with Git to merge code, manage branches, clean history, resolve conflicts.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and containerization technologies. Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services, including networking, storage, and security.

- Bachelor's degree (or higher) preferred; equivalent combinations of work experience and\or education will be considered.
