SAP S/4 HANA Solution Architect
Location(s): Minneapolis, MN or Denver, CO (Hybrid schedule)
Duration: 12+ Months
Some travel required

Role Overview:

The SAP S/4 HANA Solution Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and governing solutions across SAP landscapes, ensuring seamless connectivity between SAP systems and external applications. This role requires deep expertise in SAP S/4 technologies, including their integration platform SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), data platform Business Data Cloud and legacy HANA BW and the ability to understand end to end solution architecture that would align with SAP business processes and Clean Core principles and then help enforce standards, patterns, and best practices for implementation that minimize customizations and maximize operational resiliency.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Architecture & Design:

    • Develop and maintain end to end solution architecture for SAP S/4 and any supporting non-SAP systems.
    • Define based on knowledge of SAP S/4 processes the SAP data access and integration capabilities available to deliver core business functional and non-functional requirements.
    • Define, present, and govern SAP standards and best practices for enterprise-wide adoption.
    • Ensure scalability, security, observability and performance in all solution architecture designs.



  • Solution Delivery:

    • Lead the design and implementation of the end-to-end solution aligned with a business process that is primary to SAP S/4 using SAP BTP and SAP BDC and the related services (Integration Suite, Event Mesh, DataSphere, Databricks etc.)
    • Collaborate with functional and technical teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
    • Provide technical leadership and guidance during project execution.



  • Governance & Standards:

    • Establish and maintain SAP and related integration and data governance frameworks.
    • Document, present for review and approval, and socialize standards and reusable patterns.
    • Conduct reviews to ensure compliance with architectural principles.


Required Qualifications:


  • Minimum 10 years of experience in SAP technologies, including core modules and integration.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in SAP S/4HANA Utilities (IS-U)
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with SAP BTP and SAP Integration Suite
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in AWS technologies
  • Experience solutioning in the S4 HANA Utilities business processes (at least 2 of the main process streams (FICA, Billing, Meter and Device Management, etc.)
  • Expertise in SAP Cloud Integration (CPI), API Management, Event Mesh, and related BTP services.
  • Strong understanding of integration protocols (SOAP, REST, OData, IDoc, RFC).
  • Familiarity with hybrid integration scenarios (on-premise and cloud).
  • Experience in AWS integration and data movement technologies

Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science or equivalent experience.
  • SAP Certified Solution Architect or SAP Technology Professional Certification
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of non-SAP integration platforms and middleware
  • Experience with Architectural frameworks such as TOGAF or Lean IX a plus
  • Experience in the Energy or Utility Business a plus.
