Software Engineer Role

We're looking for a backend software engineer to join the Data Management organization. In this role you will build, test, and maintain scalable and secure services to ingest, process, enrich and route data from our customers using a broad range of technologies and protocols. We value engineers who are pragmatic, versatile, collaborative, and eager to work across a range of technologies rather than specialists.
In this role, you will
  • Own and be accountable for the design and development of features
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
  • Develop functional and performance tests and CI/CD pipelines
  • Contribute to technical discussions, architecture decisions, and code reviews
  • Troubleshoot production issues and ensure system reliability
  • Help resolve customer issues and periodically participate in on-call rotation
  • Take ownership of projects, driving timeline, coordination with stakeholders, execution and delivery of outcomes
Requirements
  • Experience on two or more mainstream programming languages, such as Go or Java
  • Experience developing and working with thoughtfully designed HTTP APIs, such as REST or GraphQL
  • Experience developing different levels of automated tests, such as unit, functional, integration, or performance / load tests
  • Proficient with CI/CD, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Bitbucket pipelines
  • Proficient with modern version control system, such as Git
  • Proficient with development on Linux or Unix
  • Able to learn new technologies quickly
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • 3+ years of related experience with a technical Bachelor's degree; or equivalent practical experience
What We Offer You:
  • A constant stream of new things for you to learn. We're always expanding into new areas, bringing in open source projects and contributing back, and exploring new technologies.
  • A set of exceptionally talented and dedicated peers
  • Growth and mentorship. We believe in growing engineers through ownership and leadership opportunities. We also believe mentors help both sides of the equation.
  • A stable, collaborative and supportive work environment.
Nice-to-have Qualifications

We've taken special care to separate the must-have qualifications from the nice-to-haves. "Nice-to-have" means just that: Nice. To. Have. So, don't worry if you can't check off every box. We're not hiring a list of bullet points-we're interested in the whole you.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Ideally with certifications
  • Experience with container technologies, such as Docker. Ideally with container orchestration such as Kubernetes or Docker Swarm
  • Experience with Splunk software or a similar analytics solution
  • Experience with working in a direct customer facing environment
