Our Maps Developer Platform team is looking for a technically minded and communicative engineer to design, build and maintain APIs for our popular MapKit framework and beyond.
Description We build new APIs and tools powering the Apple Maps Developer experience. On our team, you will help us take new features from conceptualization, through design and implementation, all the way to announcing them at Apple's Developer Conference! Furthermore, you will partner directly with a wide range of clients to build highly impactful mapping solutions, including FindMy, Weather, Photos, and thousands of 3rd party developers. IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL: - Elicit requirements from our clients and translate them into scalable, reliable code. - Design, review and implement 3rd party developer APIs & Tools. - Collaborate cross-functionally with Human Interaction Design, Services, and other Engineering and Data teams. - Develop, launch, and maintain cross-platform features that integrate Maps with the Apple ecosystem.

Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors in Computer Science and at least 2+ years of software engineering experience in a production environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to explain complex problems clearly and succinctly
- Passion to collaborate and iterate on ideas in a cross-functional team
- Proficiency in Swift and/or Objective-C
- Familiarity with SwiftUI and/or UIKit
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with system architecture and API design
- Proven track record of architecting, developing, releasing and supporting critically important software components
- Experience writing testable code and familiarity with Unit Testing frameworks
- Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or other spatial visualization systems
