Our challenge
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead ServiceNow SPM Developer to architect, configure, and enhance the ServiceNow platform to support enterprise needs. The ideal candidate will take a leadership role in designing solutions across modules such as CMDB, Service Portfolio Management (SPM), Software Asset Management (SAM), Application Portfolio Management (APM)/EA, Discovery, and Service Mapping, ensuring alignment with best practices and organizational standards.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $120k - $130k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role
Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, configure, and implement ServiceNow modules including CMDB, SPM, SAM, APM/EA, Discovery, and Service Mapping.
- Customize and extend platform capabilities utilizing scripting, automation, APIs, and other ServiceNow development best practices.
- Develop and manage integrations with external systems such as SAP Ariba, cloud platforms, messaging systems, and other enterprise tools.
- Implement and maintain CMDB health and accuracy through normalization, reconciliation, and data certification processes.
- Map and enforce CSDM (Common Service Data Model) standards across all modules and business services to ensure data consistency and best practices.
- Support the creation, execution, and validation of test cases for UAT, SIT, and production releases.
- Collaborate closely with architects, business analysts, and client SMEs to gather requirements and propose scalable technical solutions.
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation, runbooks, deployment guides, and support materials.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and coding best practices.
- Participate in deployment planning, cutover activities, and post-go-live stabilization to ensure smooth transitions and ongoing platform stability.
- Proven experience as a ServiceNow developer, with strong knowledge of SPM, CMDB, Discovery, and related modules.
- Extensive experience designing, configuring, and customizing ServiceNow applications.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (JavaScript, REST APIs, SOAP, etc.)
- Experience with integrations involving third-party systems such as cloud services and enterprise applications.
- Knowledge of CSDM standards and best practices for configuration management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
- ServiceNow certifications (e.g., Certified Application Developer, Certified Implementation Specialist, or other relevant certifications) are highly desirable.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) integration.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow's Orchestration and automation capabilities.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture and ITSM best practices.
