Lead Engineer/Architect- Cyber/Cloud

Must have:

  • Required TS/SCI with CI polygraph
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent certification.
  • Security+ certification and compliance with DoD 8570/8140 requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical field (Master s preferred)
  • Certifications: Recommended technical certifications in cloud, cybersecurity, or enterprise architecture
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in IT system engineering or software architecture
    • Demonstrated experience with secure, enterprise-class COTS configuration and integration
    • Experience with IC/DOD cybersecurity standards (e.g., ICD 503, STIG)

The Lead Engineer is the senior technical expert responsible for ensuring all engineering activities comply with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and achieve mission objectives. The Lead Engineer provides leadership and technical expertise to guide teams in the successful deployment, configuration, and sustainment of commercial software within a secure government cloud environment. While their primary responsibility is technical oversight, the Lead Engineer actively contributes to resolving complex challenges, driving innovation, and ensuring the quality of deliverables.

Duties may include:

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight, ensuring all engineering activities align with PWS requirements, security standards, and systems engineering principles.
  • Lead the design, integration, and sustainment of commercial software solutions within cloud-based architectures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address technical, operational, and compliance challenges.
  • Actively contribute to system testing, quality assurance, and performance evaluations to ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Oversee compliance with regulatory standards, including ICD503, DoD 8570/8140, and cloud security frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical solutions align with mission requirements and priorities.
  • Drive analyses of alternatives (AoAs), trade studies, and system reviews to inform decision-making and optimize outcomes.
  • Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers, promoting technical excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline with 8 years of relevant experience; Masters degree preferred.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent certification.
  • Security+ certification and compliance with DoD 8570/8140 requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience leading systems engineering, integration, and sustainment efforts in secure cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycles, cloud computing frameworks, and technical processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with the deployment of the proposed commercial contract writing applications for federal customers
  • Demonstrated knowledge and training in the functionality and capabilities of the proposed commercial contract writing applications
  • Demonstrated experience with the providing maintenance and support of the proposed commercial contract writing application within a federal customer environment

Desired:

  • Masters degree in Systems Engineering or a related STEM discipline.
  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP).
  • Prior experience in leading engineering efforts within NGA or other DoD/IC environments.
  • Expertise in automation, artificial intelligence, and big data technologies.
  • Membership in professional organizations like INCOSE or USGIF, demonstrating a commitment to advancing engineering excellence.
  • Experience with NGA contracting ecosystem to include interfaces with NGA GEO-F and PeopleSoft systems
