Description
We are looking for an experienced IT Security Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the organization's security posture through audits, risk assessments, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment within the construction and contracting industry.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough testing of security controls to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
Perform detailed risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors by gathering evidence, preparing documentation, and representing the security team during audits.
Act as a liaison between the organization and external audit teams to ensure clear communication and successful audit outcomes.
Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to enhance security practices and processes.
Monitor and manage firewall technologies, including Checkpoint and Cisco ASA, to protect the organization's network.
Oversee the configuration and management of cloud-based security solutions, including AWS and other cloud technologies.
Implement and manage cybersecurity frameworks, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
Utilize auditing tools and techniques to continuously improve the organization's security posture.
Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and recommend proactive measures to address them.
Requirements
Proven experience in conducting internal and external security audits.
Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and reporting.
Proficiency with firewall technologies, including Checkpoint and Cisco ASA.
Expertise in cloud security solutions, particularly AWS technologies.
Familiarity with Cisco technologies and their application in cybersecurity.
Hands-on experience with configuration management and cybersecurity frameworks.
Strong communication and organizational skills to effectively collaborate with auditors and team members.
Ability to mentor and coach team members to foster a culture of security awareness.
