Overview:
Benco Dental is seeking a skilled Senior Tax Analyst with deep experience in Vertex O Series, SQL, Excel, and tax reporting. This role is critical to ensuring sales tax compliance, improving automation, and supporting strategic tax initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong technical capabilities and leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and support staff accountants and interns.
- Monitor team workflow and performance, escalating concerns to the Director of Tax as needed.
- Identify operational tax issues and recommend effective solutions.
- Drive process improvement efforts including automation (RPA, AI, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state and local tax laws, focusing on sales tax.
- Maintain and enhance tax configurations in Vertex O Series, including Returns and Reporting.
- Work closely with TIS to ensure ERP tax data accuracy (Prelude/Infor preferred).
- Develop SQL queries and extract data from Vertex and ERP systems for analysis and audit readiness.
- Support and lead sales tax audits.
- Serve as the backup to the Director of Tax during absences.
- Provide strategic tax insights and lead independent projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or Taxation
- 7 9 years of relevant tax experience with demonstrated influence on business decisions
- Advanced skills in Vertex O Series, including Returns and Reporting
- Strong SQL and Excel capabilities (pivot tables, lookups, macros)
- Excellent research, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience with ERP systems (Prelude/Infor experience a plus)
- Must be local to Pittston, PA and available for on-site work as required
