**Hybrid | Concord, CA**
Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Network Security SME.
Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $80 - $100 / hr. w2

Responsibilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert for network security, providing guidance and expertise on F5, Avi Networks, and Akamai security products.
- Design, implement, and manage load balancing solutions using F5 and Avi technologies to ensure high availability and performance of applications.
- Configure and optimize Akamai CDN and Akamai Shield to enhance security and content delivery efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enforce security policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor network traffic and security alerts to detect and respond to potential threats in a timely manner.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members and other IT staff.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, security threats, and best practices to continuously improve our security posture.
- Develop and deliver training sessions and documentation to educate staff on network security protocols and practices.
Experience Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, F5 Certified Technology Specialist) are a plus.
- Proven experience as a network security expert, with a strong focus on F5, Avi Networks, and Akamai security products.
- In-depth knowledge of load balancing technologies and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with Akamai CDN and Akamai Shield for content delivery and security.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with other security technologies and tools.
- Familiarity with cloud security and hybrid network environments.
- Knowledge of scripting and automation for network management.
