The Project Manager for the IDEA Annual Performance Report (APR) Support Team plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely production of high-quality resources and communications for the Tennessee Department of Education. This position is responsible for project and task management, creating and formatting data-driven reports and visually engaging presentations, and maintaining stringent quality control through advanced copy editing and proofreading. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, dedicated to supporting the team's compliance and reporting goals with exceptional accuracy and professionalism.

responsibilities:

  • Project and Task Management: Manage project schedules, monitor deadlines, and maintain comprehensive tracking systems for all IDEA APR team deliverables and action items, ensuring timely execution of tasks.
  • Data Report Development and Formatting: Produce and meticulously format a variety of reports and resources, primarily utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel, by integrating quantitative and qualitative data to support clear, concise narrative development.
  • Presentation and Visual Development: Design and develop polished, professional presentations, infographics (charts, tables, dashboards), and visual resources using Microsoft PowerPoint to effectively communicate IDEA performance trends to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Editing and Quality Assurance: Serve as the primary quality reviewer, copy editing and proofreading all reports, presentations, and team communications to ensure impeccable grammar, consistent professional tone, formatting accuracy, and compliance with accessibility requirements.
  • Mass Communication Support: Prepare standardized reports, letters, and mass communications using mail merge functionality in Microsoft Word or similar platforms for efficient stakeholder outreach.
  • Tracking and Compliance Support: Maintain and update internal logs to track reports, deadlines, revisions, and follow-up actions; assist the team with tracking and monitoring required Local Education Agency (LEA) actions related to IDEA APR requirements.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with team members and leadership, demonstrating responsiveness to direction and feedback to ensure all project goals and deadlines are met.



qualifications:

-Associate or bachelor's degree in education, business administration, communications, or related field.


-At least 2 years of experience in administrative support, project coordination, or reporting.


-Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and track progress of action items.


-Strong copy editing and proofreading skills with attention to grammar, tone, and formatting.


-Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including mail merge and the ability to create charts, tables, and infographics.


-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


-High attention to detail in editing, formatting, and verifying data accuracy.


-Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and adapt to feedback.


Preferred


-Familiarity with IDEA, APR indicators, or special education terminology.


-Experience designing visual resources such as charts, tables, or infographics.


-Experience creating accessible documents and converting materials into PDF format.


-Preference given to TN residents.
