RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Oakland, CA that is seeking a Technical Writer to support documentation efforts around the refund accounting process and the standardization of job aids across the enterprise. This role will focus on capturing and refining the accounting workflow related to -Customer Events- (where refunds are due and the corresponding process), and ensuring that job aids are accurate, consistent, and compliant with standards.

Technical Writing & Review
* Create, revise, and maintain business process flows, technical procedures, and compliance documentation
* Perform independent technical reviews and cross-discipline evaluations of guidance documents
* Screen procedure change requests and provide feedback for clarity and suitability

Accounting Documentation:
* Document the end-to-end process for handling -Customer Events,- specifically, customer refunds which have a very specific accounting process to follow
* Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to validate accounting procedures and ensure clarity and accuracy
* Translate complex workflows into standardized documentation

Job Aid Inventory & Standardization:
* Conduct a comprehensive inventory of existing job aids across departments
* Identify outdated or inconsistent materials, consolidate accordingly
* Develop/standardized enterprise-wide job aids that align with operational and compliance standards

Process Improvement & Collaboration:
* Participate in investigations, benchmarking, and working groups to improve documentation practices
* Coordinate with SMEs, business stakeholders, and external vendors to gather viable information for documentation updates

REQUIREMENTS:
4+ years of experience in technical writing, specifically around:
* General updates to process documents and guidance documents
* Documenting system documentation workflows
* Consolidating and updating job aids
* Finance and accounting processes (accruals)

* Able to work collaboratively and cross-functionally
* Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear and concise language
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to ensure consistency and correctness in technical documentation
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly grasp and understand new technologies and concepts
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with excellent time management and organizational skills
* Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Visio, Excel, and SharePoint
* Familiarity with systems and documentation standards is a plus
* Experience with SAP is a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
