Job Title: Electrical Engineer (Aero Engines)
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Onsite work)
Note: Aerospace domain industry only.
Job Description Summary:
- Responsible for developing and maintaining cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs for an aero engine.
- Supports analysis and design reviews.
- Develops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas)
- Follows documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities
- Analyses functional and physical input used in the development of integrated design and system architecture. Collaborate with other engineering teams to coordinate designs and ensure timely project completion. Requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 5 10 years of relevant experience, with proficiency in CAD and drafting tools.
Required Skills:
- Electrical design experience with aero engine projects or other aero engine manufacturers projects.
- Competent on Electrical harness modeling using CAD software Electrical harness Routing (EHI) and Electrical Fitting installation.
- Thorough knowledge on Sheet metal component design, material and thickness selection
- Independently handle Electrical harness modeling related to subsystem and car level.
- Able to interpret electrical schema and good understanding and able to apply while routing the harness
- Wire Bundle calculation
- Selection of protection, connectors, conduit, etc.
- Good Knowledge of materials & mechanical characteristics
- Ability to perform a weight assessment on assemblies, aggregates and installations
- Ability to analyze manufacturing non-conformity and to validate a back-up solution.
- Sound knowledge in electric design fundamentals, engineering concepts, and applications.
- Rich experience working on aero engine external parts
- Ability to integrate manufacturing requirements in the design & perform dimensional stack up.
- Able to define fasteners and joint design
- Able to define the most suitable design according to the assembly criticality
- Good knowledge of drawing rules and GDT&T using relevant standards ASME, DIN, EN, ISO
- Hands-on experience of CAD tools like Catia V5 and PLM platform like Enovia to create and validate 3D and 2D
- Design of Mounting definitions for subsystems, with due consideration of boundary conditions & failure opportunities.
- Able to perform basic calculation on screwed assemblies.
- Knowledge on electrical components.
- Highly proficient in MS Office tools.
