Overview
D494 Engineers are responsible for the detailed design and analysis of forward end internal submarine structures. Responsibilities include structural engineering analysis of equipment foundations, platform decks, modular structures, joinerwork and stowage. Analysis for shock loadings (static and dynamic), ship motion, submergence, fatigue and tank pressurization loads are performed using state-of-the-art computer models as well as conventional classical calculation methods. Additionally, Engineers will interface with Designers, representatives from various disciplines and the Navy in a Design/Build team environment. Engineers will also participate in Navy design reviews.
Electric Boat offers Flexible Work Arrangements that allows some work to be performed remotely and at home. This varies from position to position based on the amount of classified material the department interacts with, as well as a few other variables. Please ask for more details on how it applies to this opening during discussions with the department.
