Hardware Engineer

Job title: Hardware Engineer

Location: Redmond, WA.

Duration: 12-month contract with likely extensions.

Qualifications (Must have)

Education & Foundational Skills:

BSc or MSc degree in Engineering or Physics and/or an apprenticeship in electronics or related field.

Familiarity with C/C++, basic statistics, error analysis, and Linux systems.

Scripting/configuration editing.

Laboratory & Hardware Experience:

Experience with laboratory work and ideally experimental hardware.

Familiarity with test design, planning, and execution, including accelerated test methods.

Mechanical Design & Manufacturing:

Bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent required.

Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience required.

Significant experience in 3D and 2D CAD systems (Siemens NX preferred).

Experience with overmolding methodologies and tool design.

Experience with a wide range of manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, injection molding, etc.).

System Analysis & Documentation:

Experience performing mechanical system analysis, design margin analysis, and designing custom tools for assembly, testing, or characterizing electromechanical systems.

Creating clear written technical documentation.

Reliability engineering, FMEA, product performance testing, and test results reporting experience (DOE).

Experience working in a product design/manufacturing environment.

Qualifications (preferred)

Software development experience in C++, Python, and/or Bash

Troubleshooting driver problems on Linux

Robot control or mechatronics experience. In particular:

Controlling linear motion stages

Controlling hexapod positioners

Controlling robot arms

Knowledge about camera optics and acquisition settings

Experience with VR or AR systems

Data analysis and visualization
