Job Description Summary

As the Business Analyst, you will be responsible for performing business and systems analysis activities across multiple business units. You will provide analysis and guidance for development team activities, ensuring requirements are thoroughly documented, work flowed, tested, and achieved.

 

Job Description

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our agile development team. This position will be a long-term contract that is onsite in Tallahassee, FL.

 

What You ll Do

  • Research and understand FDOT business processes and their inter-relationships
  • Document and diagram business and system processes and dependencies between them
  • Research and document impacts on agency business systems
  • Facilitate joint analysis workshops with the business units
  • Gather and document business and technical requirements as user stories in Azure DevOps and other tools
  • Manage backlog and work items using Azure DevOps
  • Coordinate with data migration and development teams
  • Develop Test Plans and Test Cases
  • Coordinate testing and quality assurance efforts
  • Perform oversight reviews of deliverables for compliance with department standards
  • Perform detailed research, business analysis, as-is and to-be analysis, process modeling.
  • Perform System Analysis & Design using a variety of modeling methodologies and techniques
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders

 

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor s or master s degree in Business Administration, Communication, Information Systems, or related field required. Equivalent work experience may substitute for educational requirement
  • 5+ years of experience in Business Process Analysts and systems analysis
  • Proficiency in writing SQL Queries and performing Data Analysis
  • Proficiency in process mapping/modeling with tools such as Visio
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Power BI, and Project
  • Knowledge of data migration
  • Ability to relate to stakeholders needs, document their requirements, and perform duties in the absence of staff
  • Ability to receive and give constructive criticism and maintain effective work relationships with others
  • Ability to adjust to changing demands in a dynamic environment with diverse work assignments

 

Preferred:

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) is highly desired
  • Experience working with Microsoft DevOps to manage user requirements and backlogs
  • Knowledge of Rules 60GG-1 60GG-5, Florida Administrative Code
  • Knowledge of change and release management
  • Knowledge of testing and quality assurance tools and techniques

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings
