Job Description:
  • The Information Security Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and improving the security posture of enterprise information systems.
  • This role supports cybersecurity operations through continuous monitoring, incident response, auditing, vulnerability management, compliance activities, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to protect sensitive and confidential information.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor network resources and security systems for potential security issues.
  • Monitor and manage a Security Information and Event Management system, including data collection, event correlation, incident detection, investigation, response, mitigation, tuning, and optimization.
  • Investigate security breaches and cybersecurity incidents, document findings, and assess impact.
  • Develop and conduct security audits to evaluate system protection, controls, and risk management.
  • Perform audit follow-ups to ensure risks have been adequately addressed.
  • Install, configure, and maintain security measures such as firewalls and encryption tools.
  • Communicate audit progress, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and remediation activities.
  • Develop and promote organization-wide best practices for information security.
  • Assist staff with security software installation and information security management practices.
  • Research emerging security technologies and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain and update system, process, and security documentation and prepare ad-hoc reports.
  • Assist in defining security tool requirements, evaluations, and operational procedures.
  • Provide off-hours support on an as-needed basis and manage tickets through the ticketing system.
  • Work closely with system owners and departmental leads to secure systems containing confidential data.
  • Support continuous monitoring and compliance documentation within governance and risk tools.
  • Assist with compliance-related projects by gathering documentation and evidence of adherence to policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-agency teams on security requirements for new initiatives and projects.
  • Lead or coordinate special projects as assigned by management.
  • Prepare reports and updates for management.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and incident response.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Experience:
  • Experience monitoring and responding to security events in enterprise environments.
  • Experience conducting security audits, vulnerability assessments, and remediation activities.
  • Experience working with regulatory and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience supporting security operations and incident investigations.
Should Have:
  • Experience working with government or public-sector organizations.
  • Experience with security operations in regulated environments.
  • Exposure to security monitoring, forensic analysis, and risk management activities.
