Position Summary
As a Staff Software Development Engineer for Enterprise Digital at Aetna (a CVS Health company), you will be a senior technical expert and technical leader for one or more teams building server/microservice/backends focused on delivering software that supports our mission to deliver robust, scalable, performant APIs to provide members with the health information they need to access Aetna resources, understand benefits, make decisions and manage health care through the Aetna web and mobile applications. You will build software following modern, lean agile processes and deploy continuously into the cloud.

The typical pay range for this role is:
$118,450.00 - $236,900.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.

Required Qualifications
- 7+ year software development experience
- 4+ years API development experience
- 3+ years experience developing and deploying micro-services in AWS or other cloud environments
- 3+ years experience working with DevOps principles and CI/CD pipeline such as Circle CI
- Experience with both building new Greenfield server solutions and taking over existing projects with features and/or performance enhancements to the original solution
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with GitHub and/or GitLab
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
- Experience translating complex problems into software designs
- Experience with event driven architecture and frameworks to support them such as Kafka
- Experience implementing Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) solutions including content management system integration
- Experience integrating AI technology into the solutions and/or the software engineering process
- Experience implementing Mainframe database CDC and/or ETL processes
- An open mind about different solutions and a willingness to propose and/or discuss alternatives
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and years of experience.
