This position is being recruited under 10 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.

For entry at the GS12 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS11or higher grade in the Federal Service.

Qualifying Experience:
For the GG-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GG-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GG-11if outside the Federal service, is required.
Qualifying experience is defined as Experience in a network operations center environment which includes experience in customer service/customer support related to information technology, network operations, cybersecurity incident management and problem resolution.
In addition to meeting the qualifying experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of the competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Help
- In a 24x7 construct, oversees and coordinates Tier 1/Tier 2 systems testing, troubleshoot, and support required to ensure the security and continuous real-time availability and accessibility of the DoDIN and Enterprise services.
- Monitors execution of changes to the physical configuration of network hardware and software as necessary to meet new or changed data transmission and connectivity requirements.
- Provides initial diagnoses of complex IT network and routing issues such as network traffic congestion, packet loss, and encryption/description of information as it moves securely throughout the DoDIN.
- Provides Situational Awareness to Battle Captains and fellow Watch Officers at both DISA Global Operations Centers to maintain a Common Operation Picture of the DoDIN.

- This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency. The incumbent may also be required to physically report to an alternate duty station during the activation of a Continuity of Operations (COOP) Plan.

- Employee is subject to recall or call back during off-shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management.
