Job Details
Skill: Microsoft Fabric Developer - Power BI & Fabric Data Engineer
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills:
- Microsoft Fabric Platform Knowledge.
- Understanding of Fabric architecture (OneLake, DirectLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, etc.).
- Hands-on with OneLake and understanding of how it is organized, including workspaces, shortcuts, file formats (Parquet, Delta) and the ability to mount different sources.
- Experience with data items like Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines, Notebooks, and Semantic Models.
- Familiarity with Fabric capacities and licensing.
- Configuration and management of spark workloads, including node size differences, high concurrency, and scaling.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Data Engineering:
- Experience with Lakehouses and Notebooks (PySpark, SQL) to perform transformations and cleansing.
- Data ingestion and transformation using Pipelines (similar to Azure Synapse and ADF): joins, filters, aggregations, UDFs.
- Handling large-scale data sets efficiently.
- Knowledge of Delta Lake format and how to build delta tables.
- Use of data orchestration to drive metadata driven ingestions.
Data Integration & ETL/ELT:
- Working with Dataflows Gen2 and Pipelines.
- Configuring pipeline triggers, activities, dependencies, and monitoring.
- Connectors to various sources (Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Dynamics 365, Salesforce, etc.).
- Scheduling and monitoring data refreshes.
Power BI:
- Building reports and dashboards.
- Data modeling using DAX and Power Query (M language).
- Semantic modeling and dataset management.
- Row-level security implementation.
Azure Ecosystem Experience:
- Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database.
- Azure Active Directory and security model integration.
