Description
SAIC is seeking a detail-oriented technical writer / documentation specialist to lead and support technical data review and sanitization efforts across international Foreign Military Sales (FMS) cases supporting PMA-251. The role is primarily focused on EMALS (Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System) and AAG (Advanced Arresting Gear) documentation, with additional support for other current and future technical data deliverables across the PMA-251 FMS portfolio. This position is critical to ensuring that all technical documents meet U.S. Government (USG) release guidelines, including proper classification, markings, and sanitization in accordance with Foreign Disclosure Office (FDO) direction and DoD policies.

Description
SAIC is seeking a detail-oriented technical writer / documentation specialist to lead and support technical data review and sanitization efforts across international Foreign Military Sales (FMS) cases supporting PMA-251. This position is critical to ensuring that all technical documents meet U.S. Government (USG) release guidelines, including proper classification, markings, and sanitization in accordance with Foreign Disclosure Office (FDO) direction and DoD policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, edit, and sanitize technical documentation to ensure compliance with DoD classification and distribution policies before release to international partners.
- Apply U.S. Navy, NAVAIR, and DoD standards to technical data review, ensuring accurate marking and formatting for international release.
- Maintain strict control of sensitive information and securely transmit materials using DoD SAFE or other approved tools.
- Track and manage documentation through internal data systems (e.g., NATEC TMAPS, OEM portals) to ensure timely processing and delivery of sanitized publications.
- Manage document version control and change tracking across all publication efforts, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and compliance with configuration management practices. Must be detail-oriented and able to adhere to strict timelines.
- Support validation, verification, and quality assurance activities for sanitized documents in coordination with Government Leads and FMS stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates, coordinate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and contribute to technical acceptance reviews and planning meetings.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience with technical publication management and editing, preferably using Adobe Acrobat Pro and other NAVAIR-authorized platforms.
- Proficient in the full Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Working knowledge of DoD classification levels and distribution statement requirements.
- Familiarity with secure document handling and transmittal processes, including DoD SAFE.
- Ability to understand and apply U.S. Government sanitization policies in the preparation and release of technical data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with government and contractor stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, technical writing, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Current and active DoD Secret security clearance (minimum).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in technical data, document control, editing, or related fields.
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a distributed team.
- Prior experience supporting Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs or international government customers.
- Familiarity with NAVAIR documentation processes and data systems such as TMAPS.
Required Security Clearance:
- Must have an active Secret clearance on first day of employment.
