Your Opportunity

A great opportunity exists for an experienced CAD Designer, Transportation Structures to join our well-established Transportation team in Coral Gables, Florida. The CAD Designer will work as a team member on small and large projects to assist on plans and designs of structural engineering projects such as bridges and other transportation structures.

This role will perform a variety of tasks which may include assisting with the plans and designs of structures and facilities such as bridges, highway interchanges, bridge reconstruction, and railroad infrastructure. #2158Florida

Your Key Responsibilities

• Uses knowledge of relevant structural engineering of bridges and other transportation structures.
• Assists team in preparing construction contract documents, plans and reports.
• Conducts basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and other similar materials.
• Performs field work as directed by a senior engineer/designer.
• Performs basic calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
• Assists with engineering duties on projects of various complexity.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• 5+ years relevant experience in Roadway, Bridge and civil structures design production.
• Proficient in MicroStation Open Road, Open Bridge.
• Experience working in Projectwise is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
• Florida DOT standards experience is required.
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, deadline-driven team environment.
• Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting, engage in creative and critical thought, and effectively communicate concepts and ideas to others.
• Ability to create and interpret sketches, drawings, and various structures.

Education and Experience

• Associate degree in Drafting/Design or equivalent from an accredited college or technical school or equivalent experience or accreditation is preferred.
• MicroStation experience required.
