Description
We are looking for a Jr. Systems Administrator to join our team in Houston, Texas. This is a long-term contract position requiring hands-on expertise in IT systems and desktop support. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining Windows-based systems, ensuring smooth operations, and supporting ongoing projects, including server replacements and application installations.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive support for Windows-based systems, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
Assist with replacing servers and reinstalling applications to ensure seamless functionality.
Manage and maintain Active Directory, user accounts, and permissions.
Perform regular system backups and ensure recovery processes are in place.
Oversee hardware installations, upgrades, and maintenance for desktop systems.
Collaborate with the IT team to address technical challenges and meet project deadlines.
Monitor system performance and implement necessary adjustments to optimize operations.
Support end-users with hardware and software issues, ensuring timely resolutions.
Document processes and maintain accurate records of system changes and updates.
Requirements
At least 3 years of experience in IT systems administration or a related role.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and desktop operating systems.
Proficiency in managing Active Directory and related technologies.
Familiarity with backup technologies and disaster recovery solutions.
Solid understanding of computer hardware and troubleshooting techniques.
Ability to work onsite in Houston, Texas.
Flexibility to work occasional weekends or overtime as needed.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
