About the Role
Our TEKsystems client in the financial services industry is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support the VP of Networking in maintaining and evolving a secure, high-performance enterprise network. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead infrastructure initiatives, mentor a small team, and contribute to cloud migration and automation efforts.

Our TEKsystems client in the financial services industry is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support the VP of Networking in maintaining and evolving a secure, high-performance enterprise network. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead infrastructure initiatives, mentor a small team, and contribute to cloud migration and automation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Develop and enforce network security policies in compliance with financial regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, SOX, NYDFS).
- Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, and application teams to support hybrid cloud integration.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement proactive solutions.
- Lead and mentor a small networking team, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve network resiliency, automation, and security.
- Provide escalation support for critical network issues and ensure 24/7 operational readiness.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking.
- Deep expertise in Cisco technologies: switches, routers, firewalls.
- Strong understanding of network security frameworks and compliance standards.
- Proven leadership experience, including mentoring and project management.
- Excellent troubleshooting, optimization, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, Security Groups, NACLs).
- Familiarity with Azure networking and hybrid cloud connectivity (Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, SD-WAN).
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Exposure to container networking (Kubernetes, EKS/AKS).
