Job Description:

Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia's capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. The Community College Workforce Alliance (CCWA) is a strategic regional workforce development initiative formed through the collaboration of Brightpoint and Reynolds Community College. The Manager, Workforce IT Systems, plays a pivotal role in advancing CCWA's objectives to enhance the attainment of high-value workforce credentials for in-demand jobs by managing, optimizing, and supporting the enterprise IT systems and processes integral to the development and delivery of non-credit workforce training programs. The position focuses on ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of enterprise systems, as well as providing IT enterprise system support and back-end data reporting for program teams and business units to ensure that IT systems function efficiently and meet the needs of the business.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree with a focus on business or IT-oriented curriculum
  • Industry credential in information technology or program/project management
  • Considerable knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, distance learning technologies, database development and management, and programming.
  • Working knowledge of workforce development issues, the higher education environment and processes, and general business practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage higher education technology support systems such as Education Management Software (e.g., WES, Ad Astra, SIS, PeopleSoft), Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas), Customer Relationship Management Platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Navigate), Productivity and Collaboration Systems (e.g., Microsoft Suite, Google Suite), Web Conferencing Platforms (e.g., Zoom), and other technologies pertinent to higher education operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to train staff on technologies, databases, and software.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and business and community partners.
  • Expertise in managing VCCS enterprise systems while reporting and resolving back-end issues with teams and students.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver data reports and presentations to various employee groups, as well as conduct professional demonstrations.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organize and deliver multiple projects in a timely manner.
  • The selected candidate must be able to successfully pass the college's pre-employment security screening.
  • Knowledge of consulting, adult training and evaluation methodology, and sales management, specifically contract negotiations related to agreements with potential clients and vendors.
  • Extensive experience leading or working with diverse engagement teams
  • Experience in a community college or workforce training environment
