ASSYST is seeking a skilled Senior Java Developer to support our client in Austin TX

Location: Austin, TX

Job Type: Contract (Corp to Corp/C2C or 1099)

Position: Onsite/Hybrid.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to support the PCS SCOR EI initiative. The selected contractor will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining the SCOR Java application. This includes modifying business logic, updating the user interface, extending reporting capabilities, and updating the system data model. The role requires hands-on experience in Java development within a J2EE environment and expertise in Spring frameworks, RESTful APIs, and SQL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop software solutions by analyzing user requirements, workflows, and data usage.
  • Investigate and resolve application issues and defects.
  • Design, develop, test, and install application solutions based on system specifications and standards.
  • Enhance existing SCOR Java components including UI, business logic, and reporting.
  • Extend system data models and reporting capabilities using tools like Crystal Reports and Power BI.
  • Conduct peer reviews, perform unit testing, and maintain documentation.
  • Provide on-call support as needed and troubleshoot across multiple environments.
  • Maintain compliance with code coverage, security, and testing policies.
  • Support development in maintenance mode with bug fixes and enhancements.
  • Perform root cause analysis and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the unit s operational needs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in Object-Oriented Programming using Java
  • 8+ years of experience in J2EE application development
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in writing SQL for relational databases
  • 8+ years of experience in developing RESTful web services using the Spring framework
  • 8+ years of experience with Spring AOP, including transaction management and security
  • 8+ years of experience with unit testing, specifically using JUnit
  • 4+ years of preferred experience with Angular UI Framework
  • 4+ years of preferred experience in developing reports using Crystal Reports
  • 4+ years of preferred experience in building dashboards and reports using Power BI
