Bachelor s degree. Six years of experience in multiple Cybersecurity technologies, systems analysis, framework and regulatory requirements, systems design and implementation, maintenance, administration, endpoint detection and remediation, vulnerability management, and Cybersecurity policy and compliance. Miami-Dade County is looking for an IT Sr. Systems Administrator, to join our operational Security Team. This is an exciting opportunity to support a public safety operation by using your networking and cybersecurity skills to help design, implementation and support our conties fire computer adided dispatching system.
The primary objective of this role is to secure our infrastrkucture and applications, by installing, supporting, and maintaining our network and security infrastructure while mitigating and strengthen Miami-Dade County's cyber defences.
<>Job components include the following:</>• Install, manage, and maintain a broad range of security and network infrastructure, including Fortinet firewalls, Citrix ADC or Kemp load balancers, VPN tunnels, SD-WAN, Endpoint XDR systems, SASE products, and Zero Trust instances.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), and assist in creating policies aligned with current security frameworks such as NIST 800-53, HIPAA, and CJIS.
• Write and update procedural documentation for supporting, maintaining, and adhering to security best practices.
• Provide direct support and become a subject matter expert in the Fire CAD system, working with municipalities to troubleshoot connectivity issues and assist product specialists with technical concerns.
• Monitor logs and reports from security products to inform the Compliance team and initiate system lockdowns when necessary.
• Collaborate with Security Engineers and other security team members to address incidents of compromise.
• Work with security system vendors to open trouble tickets, implement fixes, and resolve issues.
• Conduct ongoing process improvement exercises and tabletop simulations to enhance security posture and overall operational efficiency.
The following is preferred:
• Experience of network components and server management, including routers, switches, firewalls, Windows, Linux, etc.
• Experience with programming/scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, or YAML, or familiarity with SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) systems is an asset.
• Proficiency with security tools such as Nmap and Wireshark, and experience troubleshooting networking, firewall, and connectivity issues.
• Experience presenting ideas and results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Fortinet Firewall Administrator Security Certification.
• Experience working in a team environment and collaborating across multiple teams.
• CJIS (Criminal Justice Information System) approved clearance, subject to fingerprinting and Police Department approval.
