Job Details

Job Title : Senior SDET

Location : Cincinnati, OH (Onsite)

Duration : 12 Months

Role Overview

As a Senior SDET, you will work within cross-functional Agile teams and Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to lead quality engineering efforts, implement test automation best practices, and ensure software reliability. You will develop and maintain test automation frameworks, perform exploratory testing, and collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to deliver high-quality applications across mobile, web, and API platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute test strategy, test plans, and automation frameworks within Agile teams.
  • Develop high-quality, maintainable automation scripts for UI, API, and backend services using tools such as WebdriverIO, Postman/Newman, and REST Assured.
  • Create and manage test cases in test management tools; execute both automated and exploratory testing.
  • Debug, reproduce, and document software issues; collaborate with developers to resolve defects.
  • Ensure test coverage for all new features and functional changes; organize tests into repeatable suites.
  • Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, Concourse, CircleCI).
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and QA leads to align on requirements and quality goals.
  • Support release readiness through milestone-based and risk-based testing approaches.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong test automation skills in Java, JavaScript, or similar programming languages.
  • Hands-on experience testing APIs and backend services (Postman, SoapUI, REST Assured).
  • Proficiency with GitHub and version control workflows.
  • Experience with ALM tools (Jira, Quality Center, Digital.AI Agility, etc.).
  • Solid SQL skills for data validation and backend testing.
  • Experience in Agile environments and cloud-based testing.
  • Proven knowledge of internet protocols, web proxies, caching, and related web fundamentals.
  • Minimum 5 years in SDET/Quality Engineering roles.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in BDD environments.
  • Accessibility testing knowledge.
  • Quality engineering certifications (e.g., ISTQB).

Exceptional Plus

  • Experience with Enterprise Content Management testing, particularly customer correspondence systems.
  • Familiarity with Rocket Software s Mobius, IBM FileNet, BlueCrest EngageOne, or DFWorks.
