Field Test Technician ODTR
Primary Location: Ohio, Columbus V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Field Test Technician ODTR for our premier client in Ohio, Columbus.
Above 60 miles Reimbursement
Education and Experience

• 2-3 Experience.
• High School Diploma Required.
• Associate degree is a plus.

Top Must Haves:

• Experience with OTDR testing.
• Familiar with ISP and OSP network infrastructure- Inside plant (ISP) and outside plant (OSP).
• Quick learner and positive work attitude.
• Understanding network documentation and testing techniques.
• Good communication skills.

Nice To Haves:

• Least wave testing/ BERT testing.
• Can hit the ground running, or able to ramp quickly.
• Relevant certifications a plus, not required.
• Experience working with desktop software programs (MS Suite, Excel, Word, Visio).
• Experience with fiber splicing is good experience for candidates to have- should have some field experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic ability to work independently and manage ones time.
• Basic knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment and computer hardware and software.
• Knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software.

WHAT YOULL DO:
Job Responsibilities:

• Report design, reliability, and maintenance problems or bugs to design engineers/software engineering.
• Provide support to customers/users where the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature.
• Apply company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.
• Assist with customer installation and training.
