Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Operations Consultant with Zscaler and Microsoft Purview
Atlanta, GA (Hybrid preferred; Remote considered for strong candidates)
6 Months Contract (Potential Extension)
We are seeking a skilled and proactive DLP Operations Consultant to assist in operationalizing its Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategy for an initial 6-month engagement. This role will be critical in building and scaling out DLP policies, processes, and enforcement mechanisms across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with Zscaler and Microsoft Purview, strong understanding of data classification and labeling, and the ability to drive operational implementation in coordination with legal, security, and IT stakeholders.
- Operationalize DLP initiatives across Client in alignment with corporate data security goals.
- Implement and refine data labeling strategies that support DLP policy enforcement.
- Leverage tools such as Zscaler and Microsoft Purview for data monitoring, classification, and policy control.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to define escalation paths and resolution protocols (e.g., for unauthorized data downloads).
- Develop workflows and response playbooks to address DLP incidents, integrating technical and procedural controls.
- Contribute to documentation, training, and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
- Support DLP expansion strategy as our client extends these controls to additional business units and newly acquired entities.
- Participate in M&A-related activities by ensuring new organizations are brought into the DLP framework post-acquisition.
- Proven experience in DLP program design and operations
- Strong hands-on experience with Zscaler and Microsoft Purview
- Experience designing and implementing data classification and labeling strategies.
- Background in working with legal, compliance, or governance teams on data handling and incident response.
- Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) experience preferred, especially integrating newly acquired entities into existing data governance programs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead cross-functional discussions.
