Title: Technical Project Manager (SaaS Procurement system initiatives)
Location: Remote and Oakland, CA (Onsite on Tuesdays/Wednesdays Also open to onsite Tuesdays/Wednesdays in La Jolla, CA)
Duration: 12+ Months
Our Higher Education client is seeking a Technical Project Manager to support multiple enterprise application projects at the University. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, excels at cross-functional collaboration, and has a strong background in system migration and SaaS implementation projects. Procurement system/project background is highly preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and coordinate implementation of a new Canary Application (a "Yelp for suppliers") used by procurement stakeholders across campuses
- Manage the migration of a Certificate of Insurance (COI) tracking system from a legacy tool to the CalUsource (GEP) platform, leveraging the COI module.
- Support the enterprise-wide platform migration of CalUsource, transitioning to GEP s new no-code/AI-enabled platform, across 4 key modules.
- Coordinate deliverables, track KPIs, and ensure milestone success with support from an assigned Engagement Manager
- Collaborate closely with a Change Management Specialist on:
- Communication strategies
- Training plans (virtual/in-person)
- Stakeholder engagement
- Post-implementation adoption tracking (30/60/90-day reporting)
MUSTS:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Technical Project Management
- Strong experience with enterprise application migrations and SaaS platform implementations
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working in hybrid environments
- Ability to translate technical language into clear business terms
BONUS:
- Procurement project experience (Huge Bonus)
- Experience working with Higher Ed, University Systems or Public Sector clients
- Familiarity with CalUsource or other procurement platforms
- Understanding of change management frameworks or direct partnership with change teams
- PMP
