Position Title: Senior Software Developer
Location: Miami, FL
Duration: 6+ months with extension (based on project scope and funding)
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer to support the Goldkey initiative, a high-impact technology program tied to 12/24-month strategic priorities. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing robust software solutions that align with enterprise goals.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-level applications to support the Goldkey project.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT management, business analysts, and stakeholders to define technical requirements.
Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant with county IT standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
Contribute to system architecture, design documentation, and best practice standards.
Support deployment, integration, and continuous improvement of developed solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience with strong knowledge of system design and development methodologies.
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, or similar).
  • Strong experience with relational databases and data integration.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments, APIs, and microservices architecture.
  • Proven ability to work on mission-critical projects with attention to detail and security.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
  • Prior experience working on government or public sector IT projects.
  • Knowledge of ITD (Information Technology Department) standards and County systems.
  • Experience with Agile or hybrid project methodologies.
