Service Scope & Responsibilities
A. New Installations (Onsite Data Center Operations)
Review DCRM tool and acknowledge work requests within 24 hours with completion date
Complete installations within 3 days of request hitting HSS queue
Rack and cabinet installations with power strip setup
Power up cabinets, label racks, and update DCTracks system
Hardware unboxing, disposal of packing materials, and rack stacking
Configure ILO/IDRAC on servers and network equipment
Install patch cords, trunks, and patch panels as required
Perform ping tests on all ILO connections
Attend planning meetings with customers, network, and SAN teams
Parts ordering, quote gathering, and purchase order submissions
Vendor access approval and telco meet-me room management
Perform all IT audits, annual DCTrack audits, and tape audits
B. Break/Fix Repairs (Onsite Support)
Troubleshoot, isolate, and repair all cable types (Single-mode, Multi-mode, Copper)
Remove and install components: NICs, SFPs, Memory modules, Hard Drives
Respond to infrastructure team calls for cabling and hardware issues
Participate in MIM bridge calls during hardware-related outages
C. Decommissioning & Cabling Operations
Verify change record status before proceeding with decommission work
Remove all patch cords end-to-end including patch panel connections
Remove old hardware from equipment racks per decommissioning process
Removable media disposal tracking and destruction (Blancco wipe, shredding)
ADR/ERI tracking and coordination
D. Hardware Dispatch Operations (HDO)
Centralized coordination between technical support groups and hardware vendors
Manage and schedule hardware repairs for IT data centers (7x24x365)
Evaluate dispatch requests for maintenance coverage and cost-effective solutions
Authorize service uplifts, T&M repairs, warranty repairs, installations
Create incident requests, open vendor service requests with diagnostic logs
Create AYS change requests with complete implementation plans
Ensure SLA compliance and verify problem resolution
E. Hardware Receiving System (HRS) Management
Log all equipment arrivals and removals before end of shift
Package pickup, delivery, and handling of large shipments
Coordinate equipment shipments and transfers to other locations
RMA parts tracking and email validation of part receipts
Track all IT devices and parts in both HRS and DCTracks systems
F. Additional Support Services
Provide on-call support as required
Emergency onsite coverage with extended time frames when needed
Support facilities teams during power work with pre/post IT power checks
