Job Title: Business Analyst
Location: Austin, TX 78751
Duration: 10 Months
Interview Type: In-Person/Virtual
Work Setup: Hybrid 3 days remote, 2 days onsite (Monday & Tuesday at the Austin location).
Eligibility: Only candidates local to Austin, TX will be considered.
Position Overview:
The Business Analyst will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs to develop solutions that align with organizational goals and strategies. This role requires strong analytical skills, deep experience in business process reengineering, and a solid understanding of technology-driven business improvements.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, capable of bridging business and IT to deliver solutions that enhance efficiency, productivity, and value.
Key Responsibilities:
Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user requirements to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Formulate and design systems to parallel overall business strategies.
Conduct business process reengineering to identify opportunities for applying new technology to improve business effectiveness.
Create business process maps and documentation using industry-standard methodologies.
Prepare solution options, risk identification, and financial analyses including cost/benefit analysis, ROI, and buy/build recommendations.
Write detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and necessary steps for developing or modifying computer programs.
Collaborate closely with IT teams (Architecture, Project Delivery, Application Sustain, etc.) and serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
Participate in software development reviews, providing analytical support and recommendations throughout the project lifecycle.
Contribute to unit testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing activities to ensure quality and functionality.
Plan and organize multiple assignments efficiently while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with technical and business audiences.
Required Skills & Experience:
8+ years of experience reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs.
8+ years of experience in business analysis, including a strong understanding of core business analysis principles, practices, and methodologies.
8+ years of experience participating in software development reviews and providing advice and support during analysis, design, and testing phases.
8+ years of experience performing or supporting unit testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing.
8+ years of experience in planning and organizing multiple projects or tasks effectively to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
8+ years of thorough knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
8+ years of strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to effectively engage with business and IT professionals.
5+ years of experience acting as a liaison between business users and IT teams (architecture, project delivery, application sustainment, etc.).
Proven experience as both a Business Analyst and Data Analyst, with the ability to analyze raw data and translate findings into actionable business insights.
Experience in project management; PMP certification is a plus.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience with the implementation of case management systems.
Experience using JIRA for project and issue tracking.
