Salary Range:

  • OLA2: $140,300 $149,600

  • OLA1 (junior-level): $99,000 $105,600

Overview

We are seeking mission-focused Chinese Language Analysts to join a high-impact team supporting SIGINT operations. In this role, you will play a vital part in national security by analyzing, translating, and processing complex voice and graphic language materials. Your linguistic expertise will directly contribute to intelligence gathering and operational success.

One (1) position may be filled at the OLA1 level for a qualified junior linguist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform voice and/or graphic language analysis in support of Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) collection and operations.

  • Recover essential elements of information (EEI) from various forms of communication.

  • Accurately translate or transcribe complex and nuanced written or spoken Chinese-language material.

  • Gist and summarize straightforward, factual material for quick dissemination.

  • Support real-time and post-processing missions by applying cultural and regional context to interpretations.

Qualifications Required

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) or CI Polygraph.

  • Strong command of Modern Standard Chinese (Mandarin), both spoken and written.

  • Demonstrated experience with SIGINT operations or related intelligence environments.

  • Ability to understand and render complex linguistic structures, idioms, and cultural nuances.

Preferred

  • Prior experience as an OLA1 or OLA2 with a government agency or defense contractor.

  • Familiarity with SIGINT tools, voice processing platforms, and graphic language material formats.

Position Levels

  • OLA2 (Senior-Level): Strong translation/transcription background; experienced with sophisticated material.

  • OLA1 (Junior-Level): Gisting and basic translation/transcription capability; may support simpler content types.
