Job Title: Business Systems Analyst (Ecommerce Search Platform)

Location: Corte Madera & Pleasanton, CA (2 Days/Week Onsite)

Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with 10+ years of experience in ecommerce environments to support the implementation of modern site search platforms such as Constructor, Algolia, or Elastic Search. This role is critical in ensuring a seamless and optimized product discovery experience for users.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead discovery and analysis efforts related to ecommerce search platform implementations, including writing detailed functional and technical requirements.
Partner with product owners, engineers, QA, and stakeholders to translate business needs into structured documentation, including as-is/to-be workflows, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
Develop and execute a comprehensive requirements gathering strategy, including stakeholder interviews, data mapping, and cross-functional coordination.
Define and maintain functional specification documents, support agile ceremonies, and ensure traceability from requirements to testing and delivery.
Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning, coordination, and execution.
Support integration and performance requirements, including compatibility with product catalogs, personalization, and advanced filtering/sorting logic.
Ensure deliverables align with business goals and are delivered on-time in a fast-paced agile development environment.
Must-Have Qualifications:

10+ years as a BSA, with a strong emphasis in ecommerce, retail, or digital platforms.
Proven experience with site search platform implementations, ideally Constructor, Algolia, or Elastic Search (multiple implementations preferred).
Expertise in creating process flows, BRDs, FRDs, and managing traceability matrices.
Skilled in Agile environments; experience using tools like Jira, Confluence, and diagramming tools (Lucidchart, Visio, etc.).
Experience leading UAT cycles and working closely with QA and engineering teams.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred:

Background working with ecommerce platforms like Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopify, Magento, etc.
Experience with APIs, product catalog schemas, or personalization engines.
Technical fluency to interface comfortably with engineers and data teams.
