Applications Engineer, Megapack

Tesla Energy is seeking a highly motivated Applications Engineer to help accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. Our team is responsible for the successful design and deployment of critical features for Tesla Energy Industrial products, including Megapack and Powerpack.
Our technology stack includes both industry-standard and custom-built hardware and software spanning embedded and server-side systems. Flexibility, an ability to understand and contribute to a diverse set of technical topics, an eagerness to collaborate with stakeholders, and strong engineering leadership are key strengths we expect you to bring to the table.

Responsibilities

• Identify, define, and implement new processes, tools, and features that can improve the performance, reliability, and stability of Megapack products through their 20+ year product lifetime
• Write product requirements documents driven by insights from data and feedback from internal and external stakeholders

• Demonstrate strong product and project leadership through the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment

• Define, collect, and analyze success metrics and report on those metrics to a broad range of stakeholders

• Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and business personnel

Requirements

• Demonstrated application of analysis, design, and testing to solve complex engineering problems (e.g., troubleshooting REST APIs or IOT user interfaces)

• Exceptional ability to communicate across a wide range of cross-functional teams and stakeholders with competence and clarity

• Familiarity with managing software and firmware updates at large scale

• Familiarity with industrial power systems

• A passion for sustainable energy

Expected Compensation
$133,440 - $292,800/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
